Hmm...

I walk by this sign ever once in a while, and I wonder each time, what kind of company this might be...
I wonder if these people think this name is sooo hip or something. I guess they're going for leaving a strong impact, but still, they could've come up with something better, don't ya think?

Oden on a Cart

I'd seen these on Japanese TV shows and commercials, but I had never seen one. Well, while I was waiting for my overnight bus, I saw one near the bus station! It's a bad picture, but I was pretty excited, seeing the real thing for the first time. I think there was only enough space for 6 people, and all the seats were full. Everyone just sat around the cart with the oden and were eating.

Always amazes me

Avocados!

...about $2 for ONE
...but HEY! They wrap EACH avocado in a plastic bag, so it's a good deal, right?!

And next we have...
Individually wrapped
LIME!

About $1.60 each.
...I won't be eating any lime for awhile for sure.
Japanese people put so much care into wrapping vegetables and fruits.
If people saw grocery stores in the U.S. they'd probably think everything was unsanitary or something, huh?

Snow

Last month, I went to a dance movement therapy workshop. I had planned to go on the overnight bus, as it's the most economical way to get up to Tokyo. BUT, it snowed so much that the bus got canceled. Around midnight, I finally got back home from the bus stop. I can walk here in Japan at midnight, and not feel scared...kinda amazing, don't you think?

The next morning around 4am, I headed out to Osaka to catch the shinkansen instead. Poof!! There goes my budget for the month! Argh.

After couple of days, I came back home. The sidewalk was frozen so I was being real careful not to slip and fall...then I looked to the side and saw the sun coming up. Stopped to take the view in. Pretty, huh?
